World War II Day -P4

We had a whole day of fun based on World War II.  Pupils dressed in the style of pupils from the 1930s/40s.  We chanted our tables and had a spelling bee.  We came to school prepared with our evacuee labels and gas masks.  We sheltered from bombs in our air-raid shelters (desks) whenever we hear the air-raid siren, and we came out once the "all clear" was sounded.  To finish we had a V.E. Day street party in the classroom with bananas, jelly, bread and jam and other wartime food and drinks.  Party music included "Run, Rabbit, Run," "White Cliffs of Dover" and "We'll Meet Again."
