Religious Education (RE)
The school provides Religious Education in accordance with the agreed syllabus developed by the main churches. This is provided in the form of assembly and/or class periods. Parents may exercise their rights of conscience to fully or partially withdraw children from this by informing the Principal and completing the appropriate form.
Parents have the right to withdraw or partially withdraw their child from RE lessons and/or Collective Worship (Assembly). Alternative accommodation for children whose parents have requested that they be withdrawn from assembly will be provided.
Pupils will remain in their classroom but be given other work to do during RE lessons. We have a number of church visitors and organisations who come into school throughout the year to support the delivery of this subject area.
